Haven House Children’s Hospice is hosting ‘Padel for a Purpose’ to raise funds for seriously ill children in north east London, West Essex and Hertfordshire.

The hospice will host the tournament at Rocket Padel Beckton, east London, on Thursday 9 October, including appearances from ‘The Romford Bull’ Johnny Fisher, Big John and TV personality Mark Wright, all coming together to support a fantastic cause.

Players of all backgrounds and skill levels are welcome, with participants set to be grouped based on their ability to ensure each person can make the most of their experience.

Entry is £150 per person and includes a welcome pack, an exclusive goody bag and the chance to play with or against the celebrity participants. The event will also include Beat the Pro challenges, as well as prize giveaways and raffles throughout the day.

Registration will begin at 9:30am on the day, with the event running until around 4pm.

Kate Rosenthal, Assistant Director of Income Generation and Marketing at Haven House Children’s Hospice, said: “We are excited for our first padel event with our patrons, ambassadors and supporters.

“It is more than just a sporting occasion – it is a chance to unite our community behind a charity that truly matters. The awareness and vital funds raised will help us continue delivering specialist care, comfort and support to seriously ill children and their families at the most difficult times.

“Events like this highlight the incredible generosity of those who stand alongside Haven House, ensuring we can be there for every family who needs us. There are still places available – so grab a racket, join the fun, and help us make every point count for Haven House!”

Haven House Children’s Hospice provides short breaks, end-of-life care and therapeutic services to children, offering support to families who need it most from the moment a diagnosis is made.

The hospice costs around £6 million per year to run, with the upcoming padel tournament a great opportunity to generate important funds to aid their care services.
